Q – What is Day of the Week Optimizer?
A – The Day of Week Optimizer is an option in Campaign Builder that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to determine the best day of week to send messages to each guest and easily integrate that information into your campaigns. The optimizer looks at data such as a guest’s transaction and visit history to determine which day they’re most likely to engage with your brand.
Q – What are the main benefits of Day of the Week Optimizer?
A – By determining which day guests are most likely to engage with your brand, you can improve campaign engagement, offer a more personalized loyalty program, and increase the chances of successful guest interaction.
Q – Which products or features are required to use this feature?
A – The Day of the Week Optimizer feature can be found within Campaign Builder. To utilize this feature, you must have Messaging and Loyalty.
Q – What permission group(s) are required to access and/or use this feature?
A – Customers must have access to Campaign Builder for this feature, but do not need any other specific permissions.
Usage Questions
Q – How is a guest’s best day of week determined?
A - A guest’s best day of week is determined by AI using information about their visit history, engagement behavior and transaction data. Guest scores are updated each day.
Q – How long are campaigns?
A – Day of Week campaigns can be anywhere from 2-7 days in length.
Q – Is a guest’s best time of day considered?
A – No, the feature only considers the day of the week. When setting up the campaign, you will still need to specify what time of day to run the campaign.
Q – What happens if the campaign is set to run outside of someone’s best day?
A – If the campaign does not cover a guest’s best day, they will receive the message on their next closest day which is determined based on their day of week score and the proximity of the days of the campaign. For example, if a campaign runs Friday to Sunday and a guest’s best day is Thursday, they will receive the campaign on Friday.
Q – What happens if the guest does not have a best day of week?
A – If a guest does not have a best day of week and is included in a campaign, they will be added to the first day of the campaign.
Q – Can I add guests once the campaign has started?
A – New guests cannot be added to the campaign once it begins.
Q – Do I have to add an offer?
A – No, an offer is not required to use this feature.
Q – Can I set up recurring campaigns using this feature?
A – Day of Week campaigns can only be scheduled as deferred campaigns.
