What is a Tier Adjustment Campaign in Paytronix Messaging on Access Evo?

This article will review what a Tier Adjustment campaign is and how to set one up

Written by Matt Ford

Overview

Tier Adjustment Campaigns are used to either:

  1. Move guests from an existing Tier to an Adjustment Tier upon execution of a campaign

  2. Move guests from an Adjustment Tier to the Expiration Tier on the campaign’s reward expiration Date.

Campaigns can be "Adjustment Tier" and "Expiration Tier". By default, guests will remain in an Adjustment Tier when the Expiration Tier is not selected.

Note:

  • A Tier cannot be deleted if it’s associated with a campaign.

  • A Tier campaign is eligible only if at least one tier is configured.

What are some considerations of a Tier Adjustment campaign?

If you are contemplating a tier adjustment campaign here are some things to consider first:

  • Customer Segment - Is the Account Filter created for this campaign?

    • It will only accept existing tiers.

    • A default adjustment tier is always chosen.

    • Guests in the Target group will moved into the ‘Reset Tier’ when the adjustment expires. If a reset tier is set, then an expiration must be set in the reward.

    • Learn more about Segment Campaigns in What is a Custom Segment

  • Message - Email messages can be applied to notify the guest of the Tier change along with the guest’s benefits/perks associated with the change.

  • Reward - Will you include an offer with your tier campaign?

  • Schedule - Set the Scheduled campaign parameters - one-time, recurring or a custom frequency

How do I set up a Tier Adjustment Campaign?

Here is an example of a Tier Adjustment Campaign where we’ll upgrade qualifying guests to a Premium Tier.

To create a campaign to adjust the tier on guest accounts:

1. Access Messaging but clicking the Access logo in the upper left corner, Products and then clicking Paytronix Messaging.

2. Select Campaigns and Create Campaign.

3. Under Details, give your campaign a memorable name.

4. Select the customer segment to target. You can use the "Search by segments by name" and also use the new filter options, such as recently modified and then click Next.

5. Select Admin Campaign as the campaign type. With an admin campaign no message is being sent. If you want to send a message, select Single Message as the campaign type.

6. Select Reward if you want to attach a reward to delivered ro your selected segment. Non-message campaigns have no email, SMS, push, or pull message content.

7. Click on Select Tier Adjustment and select the tier you want move guests to when this message sends. In this example, we selected Premium.

If you want to reset the guests tier back to the original tier, select the tier in the Reset to tier when reward expires. If you want to reset the tier, a reward with an expiration date us required on the campaign(see step 6 above).

8. Click Next to set the campaign schedule. Choose the start date and time that you’d like your tier adjustment campaign to run and the campaign type - one-time campaign, recurring or a custom frequency campaign

Please be aware that all times in the PXS system are in Eastern Standard, so adjust accordingly if you need to.

9. Click Next to go to the Final Review screen. Review all the details and when you are ready to launch your campaign click Launch Campaign. It will now be live and ready to launch based on the schedule.
