What are Additive Lead Timings?

Lead Timings use additive options to build and manage the settings that work best for your business including Order Preparation and First Party Delivery timing as well as Order Limit and Store Capacity configurations.

How do I enable Additive Lead Timings?

To begin, go to Online Ordering then select the store you wish to configure settings for.

Select Settings>Order Timing from the top level navigation.

Check the box for Enable New Timing Features to disable any existing timing features and enable the settings on this page to control order timing, limits and capacity.

How do I set Order Preparation Timing?

You can set a variety of timings for how long orders will take to prepare, with each building up on the previous.

First, set your base timings:

Order Prep Time: This is the base time for how long the order will take to prepare.

ASAP Lead Time Limit: This sets a threshold for when ‘ASAP’ will not longer be an option for the guest

In the example below, we’ve set 8 minutes for the Order Prep Time and 180 minutes for the ASAP Lead Time Limit.

Next, build upon your base timings by selecting any or all of the Order Timing Configurations:

Order timing configurations checkboxes

Add Time by Schedule: Allows you to add additional prep minutes by day of the week/time of day. For example, on Thursdays and Fridays, between 6pm-11pm, you may add an additional 10 minutes of prep time.

Add Time by Subtotal: Add prep time based on the subtotal value of the order. For example, any order over $100 may need an additional 8 minutes of prep time.

Add Time by Item Count: If the item size exceeds a certain value, you can choose to add additional prep time. For example, more than 15 items in an order requires 10 additional minutes to prep.

Add Time by Orders Volume: Add prep time if you want to control how many orders are actively in progress at a given time. For example, if you have more than 20 orders in the kitchen, adjust your prep time by 15 minutes for any incoming orders, until the volume falls below the threshold.

Add Time by Subtotal Volume: Adjust prep time based on the dollar value of the orders in progress. For example, more than $500 active orders means an additional 25 minutes of prep time to any incoming orders, until the volume falls below the threshold.

Use Category-Specific Timing: Allows you to set the types of order timing configurations you wish to use, based on specific menu categories. :

How do I set First Party Delivery Timing?

Set your base timings for how long to allow for an order to be delivered by inputting the delivery time. Note: This time will be added to the delivery lead times configured for zones and zip codes in your Delivery Settings. Learn more Configuring Paytronix Delivery Settings.

Next, choose from any or all of the options under Delivery Time Configuration:

Add Delivery Time by Schedule: Allows you to add additional time to deliver based on day of the week/time of day. For example, during rush hour traffic Mon-Fri, you may add an additional 10 minutes to the delivery time.

Add Delivery Time by Order Volume: Add additional delivery time if you want to control how many orders are actively in progress at a given time. For example, if you have more than 20 orders in the kitchen, adjust delivery time by adding 15 minutes for any incoming orders, until the volume falls below the threshold.

Add Delivery Time by Subtotal Volume: Adjust delivery time based on the dollar value of the orders in progress. For example, more than $500 active orders, adjust the delivery time by 10 minutes to any incoming orders, until the volume falls below the threshold.

How do I set Order Limit Configurations?

To further configure your orders, you can set limits for orders occurring in 15 minute windows:

Order limit configurations screen

Limit Number of Orders in Progress: Set a manual limit for the number of orders that can be in progress. For example, limit the number of active orders to no more than 25 during any 15 minute window.

Limit Subtotal Dollars in Progress: Set a manual limit for the sum of subtotal dollars across all orders in progress. For example, limit the active orders to total no more than $750 during any 15 minute window.

Limit Prep Minutes in Progress: Limit the total prep minutes across all orders in progress during a 15 minute window. For example, with a base prep time of 15 minutes, a limit of 60 prep minutes in progress would be equivalent to an orders in progress limit of 4.

How do I set Store Capacity Configurations?

If your store’s equipment allows for a defined set of items that can be prepared and/ or cooked simultaneously, you can set limits on what your store’s capacity is by selecting Capacity by Category Settings under Store Capacity Configurations.

Capacity by Category settings under Store Capacity Configurations

This will allow you to group menu items and set the Max Items in Progress. Once this capacity group is created, you can select it in the Advanced section of the Edit page on each menu item you want the capacity group to apply to.

Click Save Settings when you have made all of your lead time selections.
