What are Deep Linked Push and Pull Messages?

Adding deep links to Push and Pull messages creates actionable mobile messages that guide guests directly to specific app destinations, streamlining their user journey to promotional content. To learn more about Push and Pull messages read How do I Send Push and Pull Messages to the Branded App?

What do I need to know before I start?

To use Deep Linked Push and Pull messages, you’ll need to be using Paytronix branded mobile app and messaging. Please note that App version 25.4 or above is required. Your current app version can be found in the App Store settings. If you do not have 25.6 or above, please follow the steps in How to Update the Branded Mobile App to request an update.

How do I set up Deep Linked Push/Pull Messages?

1. Navigate to the Campaign Message Template in the PXS.

2. On the Campaign Message Templates page, select New Campaign Message Template.

3. Populate the Label and select an Event Type from the dropdown then expand the Mobile App Messages section in the Campaign Message Template.

4. Configure the desired text in the Push Body and/or Pull Body fields. Optionally, you can add an image to the Pull Message.

5. Add an optional destination or Deep Link for the Push or Pull message. Please note that if you do not see the destination options, contact [email protected] for access.

NOTE: You will only be able to add one of these destination options:

  • Page in the Branded App

  • Menu Item Id or Menu Category ID (supports Paytronix Online Ordering menu items and categories as well as Olo menu items and categories). The App will attempt to find the menu item at the app user’s closest location or the store they most recently ordered from. If the menu item does not exist for that store, the user will be brought to the Locations screen to select a location to order from.

  • Active Surveys built in PX Survey Center (expired or pending surveys will not be available to select) Learn more about creating Surveys: https://paytronix.my.site.com/help/s/article/000001304

  • External URL (i.e. Shopify store for merchandise)which will appear in a webview within the app

NOTE: If a destination is not configured the guest will not be able to click into the message.

6. Save the Campaign Message Template when you are finished.

How do I send Deep Linked Pusha and Pull Messages?

When you are ready to send the Push or Pull message, navigate to Marketing Tools>Campaign Center.

Select Create New Campaign.

You will see your Deep Linked Push and Pull messages in the Campaign Builder by selecting Message>Mobile.
