Mobile interstitials unlock powerful guest engagement by delivering targeted, eye-catching messages within the mobile app, creating seamless and interactive experiences.
How does a mobile interstitial work?
Do you have a Taco Tuesday promotion? Do you want to wish your guest a happy birthday and reward them with a treat? All you have to do is set up an in-app message that will pop up, at a specified cadence. For example, your Taco Tuesday fans will love to see a notice, every Tuesday, that you’re running this promotion. Delight your guests on their birthday with a pop-up offering them a free reward on their special day. Simply set up your schedule of interstitial announcements and engage with your guests.
NOTE: Users will see a mobile interstitial only once every 24 hours throughout the campaign schedule.
How do I set up a mobile interstitial?
Before beginning set up, please note that App version 25.6 or above is required to use Mobile Interstitials. Your current app version can be found in the App Store settings. If you do not have 25.6 or above, please follow the steps in How to Update the Branded Mobile App to request an update.
To set up a mobile interstitial, begin by navigating to the Campaign Center>Campaign Message Template>New Campaign Message Template.
Populate the Label and select an Event Type from the dropdown then expand the Mobile Interstitials section.
Next, add your desired promotion text to the Button Text field. This button will appear at the bottom of the pop-up interstitial. Next, Add the hex colors for the Button Text Color, Close Button Color and the Button Background Color.
Then, add an image to the Mobile Interstitial Image field. For best results, images should be 1080x1920 pixels.
Add an optional destination for the bottom button by choosing one of the four available options under Deep Link:
Survey(URL)
App Page
External Website URL (Webview URL)
Menu Item or Category
NOTE: If a destination is not configured, a button will not appear in the bottom of the interstitial.
Click Submit when finished to save the interstitial.
How do I add a mobile interstitial to a campaign?
When you are ready to use the mobile interstitial in a campaign, Navigate to Marketing Tools>Campaign Center.
Populate the Label and select an Event Type from the dropdown then expand the Mobile Interstitials section.
In Campaign Builder, navigate to Message>Mobile and you should see your mobile interstitial there.
