How do I set up SMS Messaging?
Overview
Reach your guests right on their mobile devices with relevant messages, using SMS messaging. Learn more about SMS Messaging here: SMS Feature Overview
Let’s dive into how to create an SMS campaign in Campaign Center and how your guests can opt-in to receive these targeted messages.
How do I set up and send an SMS Campaign?
To set up a SMS campaign navigate to Marketing Tools then to Campaign Message Template.
Select New Campaign Message Template.
You should now see the New Campaign Message template.
Set the Event Type to Campaign.
Expand the Mobile App Messages section and add the language for your message into the SMS Body field.
TIP: It’s important to keep the message short as SMS messages have a 160 character limit. If the 160 limit is exceeded, the SMS body will truncate. This SMS Body will have the program name appended to the beginning of the message, and that program name will count toward the 160 character limit.
Click the Submit button to save your Campaign Message Template
NOTE: If you wish to make changes to your SMS Header/Footer in the future, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Navigate back to Campaign Center and select Create New Campaign in the upper right corner of the screen.
Name your campaign at the top of the screen.
Under the Message tab navigate to the Mobile messages and Select the SMS you wish to use.
Complete the remaining campaign setup, including Segment and Scheduling then Save your campaign. See Campaign Builder Guide to learn more about setting up Campaigns.
Your SMS campaign will send out at the scheduled time
How can a guest opt-in?
To receive SMS messages, the guest must double opt-in for SMS messaging. This typically starts at registration with a checkbox for SMS like the example below.
After registering, the guest will receive a message to verify their opt-in status. If they respond Yes, they will be opted in and can start receiving SMS messages. They will automatically be sent a final confirmation message.
