Overview
The AI-Cross Sells feature dynamically offers suggestions to guests when they are at the point of purchase, potentially increasing the basket size upon checkout.
How do AI Cross-Sells Work?
AI Cross-Sells will recognize the type(s) of menu item(s) that a guest purchases and will dynamically suggest an item to add to the guest’s cart.
There are several different AI types, each suggesting based on particular criteria
What are the Different Types of AI Cross-Sells?
1. Missing Item
Description: Provides suggestions based on the four categories: entrees, sides and drinks. offering a suggestion from whichever of these items is missing from the order.
Available to: All clients who have Online Ordering. Set Up: Self-Service
Example:
Guest orders an entree, such as pizza.
AI Cross-Sell Suggestion: A side, such as breadsticks.
Note: More weight will be given to an items most-sold count, causing them to be more frequently suggested as an add-on to the guest’s cart.
2. Frequently Bought Together
Description: Provides suggestions based on the most frequently ordered items from all previous guest orders from the previous 90 days.
Available to: All clients who have both Online Ordering and Enterprise Menu Management.
Set Up: Self-Service
Example:
Guest orders a burger and fries.
AI Cross-Sell Suggestion: A fountain soda as the add-on based on the most frequently added item to the combo of a burger and fries by all guests over the past 90 days.
3.Explore More
Description: Provides suggestions based on items ordered by previous guests in a similar combination to the items in the guest’s cart. The suggested item will typically be something the guest has not ordered in the past, encouraging them to try something new.
Available to: All clients who have both Online Ordering and Enterprise Menu Management.
Set Up: Email [email protected]
Example:
Guest orders a sandwich and soda.
AI Cross-Sell Suggestion: Onion rings as the add-on based on similar orders from other guests and because this guest has not ordered onion rings before.
How do I Report on AI Cross-Sells?
The available AI Cross-Sell Report will provide data including: Recommendations Offered Over Time Top Items Recommended Recommendation Accept Rate by Source
To view the report, select Reports from the top level navigation in Online Ordering then select Cross-Sell Reports.
