This article covers how to create an SMS campaign message template, how to send an SMS campaign in Messaging, and how guests can opt in to receive SMS messages.

Create an SMS campaign message template
1. Go to Marketing Tools, then click Campaign Message Templates.
2. Click New Campaign Message Template.
3. Create a Label for the template.
4. Set the Event Type to Campaign.
5. Expand the Mobile App Messages section and enter your message in the SMS Body field.
đ¤ Tip: Keep your message short. SMS messages have a 160-character limit. If the limit is exceeded, the SMS body will truncate. The program name is appended to the beginning of the message and counts toward the 160-character limit.
6. Click Submit.
đ Note: To make changes to your SMS header or footer in the future, contact your account administrator for assistance.
Send an SMS campaign
1. In Messaging, click Create Campaign.
2. Enter a name for your campaign.
3. Select your target segment.
4. Click Next.
5. In the Message section, select Single Message as your campaign type.
6. Select Mobile Message as the message channel.
7. Select your SMS message, then click Save Configuration.
8. Below your selected message, make sure the SMS radio button is turned on.
9. Scroll down to the Reward section, configure your reward, then click Save Configuration.
10. Click Next.
11. In the Schedule section, set your Start Date and Start Time.
12. Select your campaign type:
One-time.
Recurring daily.
Recurring weekly.
Recurring monthly.
Recurring yearly.
Custom frequency.
13. Complete the conditions for your selected campaign type, then click Next.
14. Review your campaign settings.
15. Choose one of the following:
Click Launch Campaign to go live.
Click Save as Draft to save your progress and launch later.
Click Test Campaign in the upper right to send a test before launching.
Guest opt-in for SMS
To receive SMS messages, guests must complete a double opt-in. This typically starts at registration with an SMS opt-in checkbox.
After registering, the guest receives a verification message. If they reply Yes, they are opted in and can start receiving SMS messages. A final confirmation message is sent automatically.
