Adding the DoorDash Integration
Paytronix Online Ordering offers two different ways to manage your locations’ integrations to marketplace providers like DoorDash. Our Marketplace Management tool can be used to configure a specific location or at the merchant level to take actions at many of your locations at once.
Single Location Onboarding with DoorDash
1. In Paytronix Online Ordering, navigate to the location you want to onboard with DoorDash.
2. Navigate to Publish -> Marketplace Management Settings.
3. Click “Onboard” in the DoorDash section. A modal will appear with a brief note describing the details of what it means to onboard this location with DoorDash.
Note: you must confirm taxes for this location at the bottom of this page before you will be allowed to onboard.
4. Initialize the onboarding process.
a. If you do not have a DoorDash account yet, you can sign up for one by clicking “here” at the bottom of the modal. This will bring you to DoorDash to create an account and will have some data about you and your location pre-filled to continue the onboarding process.
b. If you do have a DoorDash account, click Continue in the modal, this will bring you to DoorDash to authenticate. Please sign in with your Business Admin Account. This is the account which has access to all DoorDash stores on the merchant associated with this location. Attempting to sign in with an account that does not have sufficient permissions will result in an error and will not allow you to onboard the store. I
TIP: If you do not have a Business Admin Account or the account you have is resulting in errors when trying to connect to Paytronix, contact DoorDash directly to have them set up your account with the appropriate permissions. Only DoorDash is able to create accounts that will grant the API access needed to connect to Paytronix.
5. After signing in to DoorDash, you will be redirected back to Paytronix to continue the onboarding flow. You will be presented with the following screen that will allow you to onboard your location. Based on geographical distance, we will recommend the closest DoorDash location to the Paytronix location you are onboarding. All other DoorDash locations to select from will be listed under “Other Stores”.
6. Click “Connect this Store” next to the proper DoorDash store to kick off the onboarding process. There may be some disabled options in this list that will not be selectable, like Store 5 in the example image. This means the disabled location is not eligible for onboarding. If the location you need to onboard is disabled, please contact DoorDash support.
7. After connecting the store, you will be brought back to the Marketplace Management Settings page, and you will see a display next to DoorDash showing your location’s current onboarding status:
8. The first step in the DoorDash onboarding process is a menu pull. DoorDash will pull your Paytronix menu automatically and attempt to validate it. You can see what step you are on in the onboarding flow, and what steps you have completed, by the bolded step and icons in the status display. You will need to refresh the page to fetch the current onboarding status.
Note: Hovering your mouse over the status icon of the step in progress will reveal a tooltip with more information about the step you are currently on.
a. If your menu pull is successful and qualifies with DoorDash, you will move on to the Activate step in the onboarding flow. Here you will be presented with options to preview your menu in DoorDash, push an updated menu, or finish the onboarding process and fully activate your location.
b. If your menu pull is unsuccessful, or your menu does not qualify with DoorDash, you will be met with an error state for the menu push step. Hover over the error icon to see the detailed reason why your menu pull failed. You will need to fix the described issue in your Paytronix menu before clicking the “Push Menu” button again in the Onboarding Actions.
9. Activate your store on DoorDash by clicking “Activate” under Onboarding Actions. Done!
Note: You may have to login to the DoorDash merchant portal to start accepting orders if you have not done so yet.
Multi-Location Onboarding with DoorDash
1. In Online Ordering from your Client Dashboard, navigate to Enterprise Management -> Marketplace Management. This page allows you to configure marketplace providers like DoorDash at the merchant level.
2. The first step to enable your stores for onboarding is to confirm taxes at each of your locations. In the table displaying all your locations, click the button to confirm taxes when you are confident the tax rate is correct.
3. To begin onboarding, click “Onboard Stores”. A modal will appear with a brief note describing the details of what it means to onboard stores with DoorDash.
Note: This button will not be available if all your stores have already onboarded with DoorDash, or if you have not confirmed taxes at any of your stores.
4. After signing in to DoorDash, you will be redirected back to Paytronix to continue the onboarding flow. You will be presented with the following screen that will allow you to onboard your location(s):
5. On this screen you can match up your Paytronix and DoorDash locations. Based on geographical distance, we recommend the DoorDash store we think corresponds to each of your Paytronix locations. To manually pair, you can search for Paytronix stores by name or address in the top left, and search for the appropriate DoorDash store in the dropdown to the right of your Paytronix store. When you have the appropriate store selected, click “Onboard” to initialize the onboarding flow for this store.
6. Initialize the onboarding process.
a. If successful, a green check will appear in the row of the store you onboarded, and the row will disappear shortly after.
b. Otherwise, an error icon will appear. In the case of an error, you can hover over the icon for more details about what went wrong. Please reach out to Paytronix support if you encounter an unknown error onboarding your store.
7. Once you have finished onboarding the desired stores, you can click “Finish Later” to be brought back to the merchant-level Marketplace Management settings page. You will always be able to revisit the onboarding page later if you have additional stores to onboard.
8. Like the single store onboarding flow, your stores will each have their own onboarding status as they progress through the onboarding phases. A new table will appear on the page to show you the status of your stores that are currently onboarding:
9. You can progress your stores through the onboarding flow in the same way you would for a single store via the action buttons provided in the table under Onboarding Actions. You may also click the green refresh symbol at the end of each row to pull the latest onboarding status for that store.
10. Once you have fully activated a store, it will be removed from the Onboarding Stores table and will move back into the general list of stores. You will only see the Onboarding Stores table if you have stores that are currently onboarding.
