Interpretation Summary

This report is broken up into four different sections, each displaying a different point of view for the way gift cards have been redeemed in different locations. Before examining this report, it is important to understand that if a store activated a card, that store owns the card forever, even if it is reloaded by a different location. This is one reason why we recommend not re-using gift cards.

The first grouping, entitled “Cards Owned & Used at Store”, shows all activity that is contained within one store. This means that it focuses on only cards that were both sold and redeemed in the same location.

The second grouping, called “Cards Owned by Store Used at Other Store”, shows activity on cards owned by the store in the row but used at different locations. If you follow the row, you start with the store that owns the card and see redemptions of those cards in other stores. This means that the row‘s store owes the redeeming store(s) money to cover the redemption(s).

The third grouping, named “Cards Owned by Other Stores”, shows activity at the row‘s location that involved using cards owned by other stores. If you follow the row, start with the store where the card was sold and see redemptions at that location of cards owned by other stores. This means that the row‘s store is owed money from the selling store(s) to cover the redemptions.

The final grouping, called “Total For Period”, shows the net of all transactions and the total money movement amount for each row‘s location. The first column in this group shows how much each location is due or owes. The second column shows the total adjustment to gift liability, which includes only cards owned by that row‘s location.

I LIKE IT, SO HOW DO I RUN THIS REPORT?

First enter the date range for which you’d like to run the report.
- Quick Date: Here you can choose Yesterday, Today, the current month, or last month. If you have set up by your custom fiscal periods, you may also choose to run the report by fiscal period.
- Manual Date Entry: Here you can type in your desired date range or find the day by clicking on the calendar icon to the right.
Select the desired Wallet from the drop down menu.
Select the desired Card Template from the drop down menu or leave “All” selected. Check the “Include Cross Merchant Cards” if you would like to include cards from other merchants.
Click Submit!
