A summary of key updates and highlights from the September 2026 releases.

Release Notes: September 29

Updates & Fixes

Online Ordering

  • Access Evo tab navigation restored

Fixed an issue where DoorDash-enabled stores appeared as "not onboarded" in the admin handoff view after DoorDash restarted an onboarding job, even when the store was live and taking orders.

  • Combo editor now prevents invalid entries

Fixed an issue where adding a bank account on the PX Payments page showed a success message even when Stripe rejected the account. Merchants will now see a clear error message explaining why the account was not saved.

  • Duplicate refunds on Aloha order errors resolved

Fixed an issue where NCR BSP (Aloha) retrying a failed order submission could trigger the same order to be cancelled and refunded more than once. Only the first error response for an order now initiates a cancellation and refund.

Release Notes: September 22

New Feature

Online Ordering

  • ezCater locked order alerts.

Restaurants are now notified by email when ezCater changes a catering order after it has been locked and sent to the POS. The notification includes a clear summary of what changed — such as fulfillment date or time — so your team can act quickly. A new enterprise setting, Disable Order Changed After Locking Email, is available for catering locations that prefer to opt out.

  • NorthStar conditional serving options.

Serving options attached to menu item components are now published to the guest menu. Guests will see the relevant choices appear when they select a component, with the correct defaults pre-selected.

New Feature

Online Ordering

  • Sign in with a text code (coming soon)

We're laying the groundwork for guests at participating brands to sign in with a one-time code sent by text message instead of a password. This release delivers the behind-the-scenes work; the sign-in option itself will appear for eligible guests in an upcoming update.

  • Refreshed admin design

The Online Ordering admin interface has been updated to match the Access Evo design system for a more modern, consistent look. There's no change to how you use the admin — just a refreshed appearance.

Updates & Fixes

Online Ordering

  • Uber Eats holiday hours

Holiday hours now reliably apply to Uber Eats listings, so locations no longer appear open and able to take orders on days they're closed. If Uber Eats can't accept an update, you'll now see a warning when you publish so you know your normal hours are still in effect.

  • Points reward discount cap

Fixed-dollar points rewards now discount only up to their configured value, instead of potentially covering the full price of a higher-priced item. This fix is rolling out gradually by restaurant.

Updates & Fixes

Loyalty

  • Automatically Redeem Wallet" now stays off when you turn it off

Turning this toggle off wasn't sticking — wallets kept redeeming automatically even after being switched off. This is now fixed; your setting is saved and respected.

  • Rewards catalog now sorts prices correctly

Sorting by price in the rewards catalog was ordering items alphabetically instead of by value (e.g., $300 appearing before $50). Prices now sort in proper numerical order.

  • Member Pricing can now run for a single day

Previously, a Member Pricing reward couldn't be set to start and end on the same day. You can now create single-day Member Pricing promotions.

Gift

  • Minimum purchase validation now enforced on web eGift orders

Resolved an issue affecting some web eGift card orders placed through guest website or mobile app integrations, where orders under the configured minimum purchase amount could be submitted and fulfilled without being blocked. Minimum purchase validation is now properly enforced at checkout for these order flows, so orders that fall below the configured minimum are rejected at the point of purchase.

Mobile

  • Android 16 Support (NextGen App)

Android 16 (API 36) is now fully supported in the NextGen App, allowing newly generated apps to be submitted to the Google Store with full compatibility.

Release Notes: September 1

New Feature

Online Ordering

  • Marketplace Minimum Quantities

Guests ordering through Uber Eats and DoorDash now see and must meet the minimum quantity you've configured on an option. Where a marketplace can't support it, the option is held back from that marketplace's menu and flagged in menu sync issues.

  • Courier Pickup Time for Kitchen Tickets

A new opt-in setting for DoorDash and Uber Eats sends the courier's estimated pickup time to your Square POS instead of the calculated prep time, so kitchen tickets better reflect when the driver will actually arrive.

Updates & Fixes

Online Ordering

  • Toast Payment Declines

Fixed an issue where duplicate payment identifiers could cause Toast to decline a payment as already used.
