Overview

One Time Password (OTP) login allows loyalty members to access their account via a secure 6-digit SMS code — no password reset required. When a member cannot remember their password, they can request a one-time code that authenticates them instantly, reducing friction, abandoned sessions, and inbound support volume.

How It Works

When a loyalty member attempts to log in and cannot remember their password:

  • The member selects the OTP option on the login screen.

  • A secure 6-digit code is sent to their registered mobile number via SMS.

  • The member enters the code to authenticate instantly.

  • Access is granted without requiring a password reset.

OTP is delivered as a transactional SMS message — members do not need to be opted in to marketing SMS communications to receive it.

Support Impact

OTP login is designed to reduce the following inbound ticket types:

  • Password reset requests from loyalty members

  • Post-visit receipt submissions from guests who abandoned checkout due to login failure

  • Engagement drop complaints tied to members being locked out of their accounts

When positioned correctly, OTP gives members a self-service recovery path that reduces ticket volume and improves the guest experience without replacing existing password-based login.
