Tracking Web Traffic on the Guest Website
The Paytronix guest website does not support the implementation of Facebook Pixel or Google Tag Manager. While this is not a supported feature, clients can still choose to place the tracking code on the guest website, with the understanding that Paytronix support cannot assist in troubleshooting or configuration.
Before utilizing any of these tracking tools, it is important to understand a few caveats of the guest website tool that could impact the capability of these tools to gather data on website usage.
Single Page Architecture: Our guest website utilizes single-page architecture meaning that all the subpages like account balance, reverse enroll, etc. are generated from the same base. We only have access to the main page HTML which means pixel tracking will be applied to all pages on that domain.
Can’t Target Specific Pages: Since our subpages run through a single-page architecture. That means that each part of the flow for any given page is a "view" on the same page, not its own unique page. There are ways to target parts of a page because of a unique identifier.
How to add the code snippet to the website and make edits
Adding the code snippet requires access to the HTML of the general page of the guest website tool. This is not available to clients in the production environment.
To add this, you will need to use a lower environment, like Train or Staging. This allows for thorough QA and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) without introducing risk to the production version of the website used by your guests. After testing is completed, the package can be downloaded from the lower environment and uploaded to Production to set it live on the production website.
If you need help accessing the Train or Staging version of your guest website, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It’s important to paste the analytics code snippet as plain text. Copying the code snippet from a Word Doc or website might carry underlying code or formatting that the system might not be able to parse.
