Overview
The following content will provide the necessary parameters of an Online Ordering category image and the process of how to upload such an image.
Before You Start
Image display dimensions vary throughout Online Ordering and the Mobile App. This article will provide dimensions and/or requirements for each area where an image can be displayed.
Sizing Parameters
Here are the recommended image sizes that work both with OXB and the Mobile App:
600x600 for the item detail page (when you click on the item)
230x230 for the item listing page
80x80 for the item image on the checkout screen.
For all cases, we recommend scaling first to get the correct dimension in either the x or the y dimension. Then keep the center of the image, as the center, and then crop the excess to meet the above dimensions.
Providing images that are at least 600x600 will give the best view and resolution.
Uploading Images
To add category images to a menu, you will navigate to the ‘Menu’ page and select the 'Category Descriptions' button. Then on the following page, you can upload images for each category.

Important Note: These will not display on the Mobile App unless 60% of the categories have images tied to them. The Paytronix team found that category images generally make a menu look worse if they are applied to less than 60% of categories so this guard was put in place as a result.
