Where can I find POS Mappings?
To access the POS Mapping settings, you’ll first need to make sure your POS has been set up. Please read What are POS Settings? prior to mapping your menu items.
1. From the left hand navigation, select Online Ordering.
2. On the dashboard that appears, navigate to the store you wish to map the POS for, select the three dots>General Settings.
3. From the top level navigation, go to Settings>POS Mappings.
How do I Manually Map my Menu Items?
If your POS Type requires that you manually map your menu items to POS IDs, please follow the steps outlined below.
1. If you have Category-Wide options set, you will want to do those separately. Navigate to POS Mappings then click the Map Category-Wide Options button.
2. Scroll through each item in the selected category to make sure the correct POS item or Modifier is chosen for each menu item or option.
3. If a mapping is incorrect or missing, click the button to expand the mapping selector and start typing the POS ID of the item you want to map to, then click it once you find it.
Tip: You can search for name, price, or ID. You can even search for parts of that. If you are looking for Chicken Pizza you could search "Ch Piz" if you aren't sure how Chicken is named in your system. Or, if you know the price is 12.99 you can search for "Pizza 12.99" as well. Mixing and matching components of the item can work well.
4. Once you finish with the current category, click Save POS Values at the bottom of the page.
5. Next, navigate towards the top of the page and select the next Category from the Change Category dropdown list.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for each Category to map the Category-Wide options.
7. Once you have completed the mapping for the Category-Wide options, select the next Category and complete steps 2-5. Repeat this process until all Categories and Category-Wide options have been mapped.
Please keep in mind that you will need to repeat this process for any new items you add to your menu at any time. An easy way to do this (or to check your mappings at any time) is to view your unmapped items.
Auto-Map POS items
If you prefer to avoid a fully manual mapping process, you can use the Auto-Map POS Items option instead located on the POS Mappings page.
The Auto-Map feature is a "best guess" by our system to properly map the items in the Paytronix Online Ordering menu to those in your POS system. Auto-Map looks at menu item names and placement and makes a best effort to map menu items / modifiers in the online menu to the corresponding elements on the POS side.
Note: Because items aren't necessarily named the same between systems, the Auto-Map feature is not always 100% accurate; it may map the wrong item, or in some cases it will map nothing at all because it can't find an entry close enough in the POS to what its searching for.
This is why we always recommend doing a sweep of all POS mappings after using Auto-Map and making manual adjustments as necessary. To check your POS Mappings, navigate to POS Mappings>View Mappings.
How do I View my Mapped and/or Unmapped Items?
