Overview
Updating the Paytronix Controller store-base agent (PXC) / user program (UP) of PXC-integrated POS is now possible through batch files. This article details specifics per each POS type (Aloha, Micros 3700, and Simphony) and the steps to deploy. These are designed to be user error-resistant and will prompt (in Command windows) if information is needed/omitted.
For questions on this method, contact Paytronix Support ([email protected]) for assistance. This method is available to all clients.
General Info
Batch files are available on the main software download site (https://paytronix.com/support) and housed in each integrations subfolder. Both the batch files and the PXC/UP software packs need to be downloaded (ex both Paytronix Controller Version 23.2.20230406 + Paytronix Controller Installation). Extract both to C:\PxInstall. There are several files in this download (ex is Aloha):
Scripts Download
The PxInstall_StoreSettings.txt file needs to be updated per store. You can choose which installers to run based on the settings in this file. The options are PXC, AlohaManifest, AlohaDeployTool (legacy), or MicrosSIM. LOGFILE=Y should be set as the default, and PXS=1 (NA prod) is set to default. The full list of PXS options are:
PXS=1 (NA prod)
PXS=2 (NA train)
PXS=3 (EU prod)
PXS=4 (EU train)
Other options are not available. If you have specific IPs per store, you can edit the LocalBOH= line.
Once PxInstall_StoreSettings.txt has been modified, run PxInstall.bat. This will begin the installation process.
If you are upgrading multiple stores, you can save one default PxInstall_StoreSettings.txt file and leave STORE= blank. You will be prompted for each store code in a Command window. A Windows error may appear; click Run Anyway.
The installer will run, and several log files will appear. When the Command window closes, confirm in LOG_PxInstall.txt for confirmation installation has finished. The store should now be online. If not, check the Controller log (C:\Paytronix\logs\pxcontroller.log) for errors. Standard PXC troubleshooting steps should then be taken.
