This article explains how to run, analyze and best use the General Card Activity Detail Report. ​

IS THIS REPORT RIGHT FOR ME?

Uses

* Pinpointing a certain card’s transactions.
* Examining all activity for your merchant over a single day.
* Check a card with what looks like suspicious activity on it.
* Check how many balance inquiries are done on a single day.

Restrictions

Can only do one of the following:
* Run for one day for all cards.
* Run for unlimited days for one card.

HOW DO I INTERPRET THIS REPORT?

Interpretation Summary

To interpret this report in Excel, start on the left-hand side with the card number, then look at the columns to the right. It may be helpful to freeze the panes both for the first row and the first column. The columns that you will be most interested in include Card Number, Card Template, Transaction Date, Transaction Type, Store Name, Cashier ID, and the individual wallet information. A discussion of the column names and their possible values follows below.

Column Name

Definition

Card Number

The card (or account) number - this is a unique identifier but could appear multiple times for different transactions.

Card Template

The Paytronix name for the card type. For more information on Card Templates, please click here.

Transaction Date

The date and time the card was swiped or the transaction took place

Transaction Type

There are several Paytronix terms for different transactions, including Accrual/Redemption and Balance Inquiry. For a complete list, please click here.

Store Merchant

The Paytronix name for your company

Store Number

The Paytronix number for the store where the card was activated (enrolled)

Store Name

The Paytronix name for the store where the transaction took place

Check No.

The number of the transaction - this corresponds to the check number at the restaurant‘s POS system

Terminal ID

The terminal where the transaction took place - this corresponds to the terminal ID from the restaurant‘s POS system

Cashier ID

The POS ID of the server who was logged in at the time of card swipe or the time of check close, depending on your POS setup

Account Status

The current status of the card used in the transaction. For more on account statuses, click here.

Promotion

If there is a promotion number attached to the transaction, it will appear here

Auth Code

Paytronix authorization code for the transaction

Sender

What system sent the message – usually POS or PXS. POS means that the message came through the POS system. PXS means that the transaction came through the Paytronix server directly, through the website. Possible values are: {POS, PXC, WEB_CUSTOMER, WEB_MERCHANT, WEB_IVR, PARTNER}

Wallet Label, Accrued

The amount added to the wallet listed above

Wallet Label, Redeemed

The amount redeemed from the wallet listed above

Wallet Label, Balance

The balance of the wallet listed above after the transaction was completed

Below columns will show when “Show extended fields” is checked. In addition, this check box makes all non customer visible wallets show in the report as well.

Column Name

Definition

Account Code

The card (or account) number - this is a unique identifier but could appear multiple times for different transactions.

Customer No.

The non-Paytronix customer number.

Wallet Type

The Paytronix wallet type used in the transaction. For more on wallet types, click here.

I LIKE IT, SO HOW DO I RUN THIS REPORT?

  1. First enter the date range for which you’d like to run the report. The report can be run one day for all cards or for unlimited days for one card.

    • Quick Date: Here you can choose Yesterday, Today, the current month, or last month. If you have set up by your custom fiscal periods, you may also choose to run the report by fiscal period.

    • Manual Date Entry: Here you can type in your desired date range or find the day by clicking on the calendar icon to the right.

  2. For one card, type the card number in the box next to “Card Number”; otherwise check “All” in the same section to see all cards.

  3. To view all wallets attached to the card, check the “Show all wallets” box. If you just want to see the wallets that are visible to the guest, leave this box un-checked.

  4. Click Submit!
