Account Status

This article describes the different account statuses a card can have.

Active

This status appears when the card has been activated or purchased and is available for use.

Inactive

This status appears when the card has not been activated. This card is now available for activation or exchange, but cannot be used in its current state.

Suspended

This status appears when the card has been suspended by a Customer Service Representative. This card cannot be used at the POS, but it can be logged into from the customer web site. A suspended card can hold value. A card that has been suspended can be restored to an “active” status.

Terminated

This status appears when the card has been terminated by a Customer Service Representative. This card cannot be used at the POS, but it can be logged into from the customer web site. A terminated card cannot hold value. A card that has been terminated CANNOT be restored to an “active” status.

Abandoned

This status appears after an account has been combined with another main account. The non-main account is considered to be abandoned because its card has been associated with a different account.
