Overview
Click-to-Load campaigns allow you to only reward members who take the extra step of engaging with your brand by clicking on the email they received to have their reward loaded. In a standard campaign, rewards or offers are automatically loaded onto all guest accounts included in the campaign. With a click-to-load campaign, guests need to click on a link in your email to receive the reward; only guests who click on the link receive the reward.
Before You Start
Click-to-Load campaigns can be one-time scheduled, or recurring campaigns.
When members click on the link in the email they receive, they'll be routed to your guest website. For this reason, you'll need to have an active Guest Website before deploying a click-to-load campaign.
If you haven't ever engaged your guests with a click-to-load style campaign, we highly recommend testing this campaign type with a test account for functional testing and then a small group of members to see how they respond, and how it is received by your guests.
Click-to-Load campaigns are generally used to load a single reward wallet on guest action, but they may be used to adjust multiple wallets at once as well. Reach out to Paytronix support if you have any questions about the capabilities of this feature.
Setting up a Click-to-Load Campaign
Campaign Email
The first step is to create the email for the campaign. In Email Builder, you'll add the click-to-load link using the Parameters function. Read Email Builder Guide for more details.
Create a new text box, or button that you want the guest to click to load the reward
Select Parameters > Add Special Link > Click to Load Reward
Insert the Link to add the parameter to the email, make the rest of your adjustments, save, test, and review the email to be ready for use.
Note: sending a test email through the Email Builder will not load a reward to your test account, as there is no connection between the email and account at this point. The only way to test the functionality of the link is to send a test click-to-load campaign to your personal loyalty test account.
Campaign Setup
When creating the campaign, you will follow the standard Campaign Builder Guide to add a reward adjustment to the campaign. When selecting the email, make sure that it has the `click` icon in the top left corner, otherwise, it will load rewards to all accounts in the segment, regardless of whether they take action or not.
In configuring the campaign, it's important to remember that the expiration date set in the campaign will expire the Click-to-Load link (in the email) AND the reward (on guest accounts) at the same time, regardless of when the link is clicked. For example, if you set the campaign to expire in 3 days, both the reward and the email link will expire 3 days from the time the campaign deploys. The expiration of the reward is not tied to when guests click the link.

When a member clicks on the link in the email they receive to load the reward, they will be directed to your Guest Website.
You can configure four messages that will appear when guests click on the link in the click-to-load email. Depending on a variety of factors, guests will see one of these messages when they click on a link in the email:
Success Message -- reward successfully loaded onto guest account
Error Message (Expired) -- reward not loaded because redemption window has expired
Error Message (Duplicate) -- reward not loaded because guest has already clicked on the link, and added the reward to their account
Error Message (Other) -- reward not loaded due to technical issues
These settings are found in the Program Administration > Guest Website > Pages > Logged Out > Click To Load.
