Picking a Processing Station (Focus)

This article provides guidelines for picking a procession station

Updated over 2 months ago

We typically install the POS Connector on the main Focus machine and also use that same machine as the processing station. However, each restaurant has a slightly different configurations of the main Focus machine (brain), POS stations and Back Office software. So how do you know which one should be your processing machine?

Here are the guidelines:

  1. The POS Connector must always be installed on the main Focus machine/brain, no matter which type of license it has (full vs back office only)

  2. The processing station you select needs to be a station with a full license

As long as you do that, you should be okay. That means that you can install the POS Connector on "Focus" but if it is only a back office licensed machine, you can set the processing station to "Backup" and it will correctly input the check into the POS.
